Soccer Recap: Longview Comes Up Short

Longview's game on Friday was all tied up 2-2 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Royse City Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Longview came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Royse City are ranked 202nd).

Longview has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6-2 record this season. As for Royse City, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-7-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Longview is set to take on their familiar foe Forney at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Royse City will square off against rival Rockwall-Heath at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
