Volleyball Recap: Logan Elm Braves vs. Fairfield Union Falcons

If Logan Elm was feeling good off their 3-0 takedown of Liberty Union last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Logan Elm Braves fell 3-1 to the Fairfield Union Falcons on Thursday. The Braves haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Logan Elm took a 1-0 lead headed into the second set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-17, 26-24, 25-23.

Fairfield Union got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madison Collins out in front who had 24 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Rhymer, who hit 100% for 26 digs, five kills, and two blocks.

Logan Elm's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Fairfield Union, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

Logan Elm will square off against Warren at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Warren is coming into the contest with six straight wins at home, so Logan Elm will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Fairfield Union, they will face off against Liberty Union at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
