Baseball Recap: West Columbus Takes Down Vance Charter in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, West Columbus rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Vance Charter Knights as they made off with a 10-2 victory. The win was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on four straight.

Ethan Matheson was excellent, going 4-for-5 with one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Skyler McNair was another key player, going 4-for-5 with one double.

West Columbus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

West Columbus' victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Vance Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.

Looking ahead, West Columbus will take on Rosewood on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. Vance Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
