Football Recap: Owego Free Academy Comes Up Short

Owego Free Academy and Pioneer squared off in some playoff action on Sunday, but Owego Free Academy had to settle for second. They and the Panthers were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 13-12 defeat. The River Hawks were red-hot offensively heading into the contest (they scored no less than 31 points in the five matchups prior), but the Panthers' defense proved too tough.

Having lost for the first time this season, Owego Free Academy fell to 5-1. As for Pioneer, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

As of now, neither Owego Free Academy nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
