Volleyball Recap: Skyline Falcons vs. Horizon Hawks

It was a Battle of the Birds when Skyline faced off against Horizon on Tuesday. The Falcons fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 3-2. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Skyline took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 17-25, 24-26, 25-16, 15-13.

Gabriela Medina-Valdez paced Skyline's offense, picking up 15 kills. Medina-Valdez got some help from Lizeth Medina-Valdez and her 27 assists. Mikaela Stromquist controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Among those leading the charge was Reese Hudson, who had 15 digs and three aces. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more aces the last three times she's played.

Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Horizon, their record is now 7-4.

Looking ahead, Skyline will be playing in front of their home fans against Holy Family at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Horizon, they will be taking part in a tournament against Riverdale Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
