Volleyball Recap: Arroyo Takes a Loss

Arroyo lost against San Leandro back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Arroyo Dons fell just short of the San Leandro Pirates by a score of 3-2. While the Dons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pirates 25-14 in the first set.

While Arroyo ultimately came up short, they really made San Leandro work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 28-26, 25-19, 24-26, 15-10.

San Leandro was led to victory by Eric Stowe and Avery Stone. Stowe had 23 digs, while Stone had 24 kills, seven digs, four aces, and one block. That's the most digs Stowe has posted since back in April of 2024.

Arroyo's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for San Leandro, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Arroyo will head out to challenge Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for San Leandro, they will be playing at home against Encinal at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
