Softball Recap: Fremont Comes Up Short on the Road Against Los Altos

Fremont kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Los Altos Eagles, falling 18-4. The loss continues a trend for the Firebirds in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost nine in a row.

Jiyah Caban was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Natalie Kim was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Coming up, Fremont will take on Gunn at 3:30 p.m. on March 7th. As for Los Altos, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 11-1 win against Santa Clara on the 28th.
