Soccer Game Preview: Westview vs. Sunset

The Westview Wildcats will challenge the Sunset Apollos at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Westview fell victim to Jesuit and their airtight defense on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders. Westview have struggled against Jesuit recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Sunset also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 5-0 to Mountainside on Monday.

Westview's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-2-1. As for Sunset, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 6-4-2.

Westview was able to grind out a solid win over Sunset in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Apollos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
