Baseball Preview: Stevens Falcons vs. Brennan Bears
The Stevens Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Brennan Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stevens is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought game, but Stevens had to settle for a 6-5 defeat against Taft.
Eli Rodriguez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivan Mata, who went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Even though they lost, Stevens was hitting in the alleys and finished the game with three doubles. That's the most doubles they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, while Brennan put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Warren. Brennan walked away with a 3-0 win over Warren. The victory was just what Brennan needed coming off of a 9-1 loss in their prior match.
Stevens' defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Brennan, their win bumped their record up to 13-11.
Stevens came out on top in a nail-biter against Brennan in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stevens since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
