Baseball Recap: Monarch Gets the Win

Monarch posted their closest victory since February 11, 2025 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the South Plantation Paladins 9-7. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 6-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Cruz Baribeault and Ian Haseman dominated on the mound. Baribeault tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits, while Haseman tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Baribeault has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Monarch saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Weiner, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Jayden Jordan also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Monarch's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for South Plantation, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Monarch is taking a road trip to face off against Pompano Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South Plantation, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Schoolhouse Prep at 3:30 p.m.
