Basketball Recap: Addison Toelle's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Point-Beemer over Pender

West Point-Beemer lost against Pender back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The West Point-Beemer Cadets took a 44-29 bruising from the Pender Pendragons. The game marked the Cadets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

West Point-Beemer's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Toelle, who posted 12 points. What's more, Toelle also posted a 80% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2023. Mia Hunke was another key player, putting up five points and six rebounds.

Pender was led to victory by Maya Dolliver and Myra Hansen. Dolliver dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards, while Hansen went 5 for 9 on her way to 12 points and six rebounds. Dolliver is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Schroeder, who earned four points.

West Point-Beemer's loss dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Pender, they pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, West Point-Beemer will be taking part in a tournament against Oakland-Craig at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pender, they will head out to face off against Guardian Angels Central Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pender is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.2 points per game this season.
