Newaygo won the last time they faced Big Rapids and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lions were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cardinals. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-14, 25-21.

Ruby Hughes paced Newaygo's offense, picking up nine kills. Hughes got some help from Grace Hughes and her eight assists. Grace was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Newaygo's victory bumped their record up to 23-10. As for Big Rapids, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-18-1 record this season.
