Softball Preview: Meridian Wildcats vs. Greene County Wildcats
We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Meridian has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Meridian lost 13-3 to Biloxi on Friday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Greene County sidestepped Ocean Springs for a 9-8 win.
Erin Meadows was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Kambrie Lawrence also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Meadows wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Greene County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Greene County's record is now 3-4. As for Meridian, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Meridian might still be hurting after the 30-8 loss they got from Greene County in their previous matchup back in February of 2019. Can Meridian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
