Softball Game Preview: Red Bluff Spartans vs. Dayton Dust Devils

The Red Bluff Spartans will be taking part in a tournament against the Dayton Dust Devils at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Red Bluff has four straight victories, Dayton has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Red Bluff's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Lassen by a score of 5-0.

Laurali Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Jones was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Jones wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Natalee Ross, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double. Sophia Mishoe was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Dayton came up short against West Valley on Friday, falling 17-4.

Red Bluff's record now sits at 9-6. As for Dayton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.
