Football Game Preview: South Bend Adams Eagles vs. South Bend Riley Wildcats

The South Bend Adams Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the South Bend Riley Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Bend Adams will be strutting in after a victory while South Bend Riley will be coming in after a loss.

South Bend Adams took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 28-7 margin over South Bend Washington. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Carson Bryce went supernova, rushing for 201 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Those 201 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to South Bend Adams' defense and their three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Franklin Passwater and Lamarr Shaw, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 42 points the game before, South Bend Riley was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. The contest between the Wildcats and South Bend Saint Joseph didn't end well, with the Wildcats falling 21-6. The Wildcats have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

South Bend Adams' victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for South Bend Riley, they now also have a losing record of 3-4.

South Bend Adams won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, slipping by South Bend Riley 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
