Softball Recap: Woodland Wolves vs. Mira Loma Matadors        
        
		
            
 Woodland had to endure  a  six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Mira Loma Matadors by a score of  27-23  on Monday. Woodland's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
  Sofia Sanchez and  Izzy Loesch did most of the damage at the plate:  Sanchez  scored five  runs while  getting on base  in six of her eight plate appearances, while  Loesch  got on base  in six of her seven plate appearances with four  runs, four  RBI,  and a  double. The team also got some help courtesy of  Emily Rathjen, who  went 3-for-4 with three  RBI, a  triple,  and a  run.
 Woodland's victory  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 4-10. As for Mira Loma, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with that  loss, which was their 13th straight  at home dating back to last season.
 Woodland will head out on the road to  square off against  Cosumnes Oaks at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Cosumnes Oaks is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.2  runs per game  this season. As for Mira Loma, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Dixon at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
