Basketball Game Preview: Perry Panthers vs. Benedictine Cadets

The Perry Panthers will square off against the Benedictine Cadets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Perry has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 18.

On Saturday, Perry came up short against New Hampstead and fell 62-49. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while the Phoenix are ranked 162nd).

Meanwhile, Benedictine didn't have too much trouble with Wayne County on Saturday as they won 64-49.

Benedictine has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Perry, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-17.

Perry was dealt a bruising 64-29 loss at the hands of Benedictine in their previous matchup two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Benedictine's Caleb Jones, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 19 points. Now that Perry knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
