Softball Recap: Denbigh Beats Phoebus for Their Third Straight Victory

Denbigh hadn't done well against Phoebus recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Denbigh Patriots walked away with an 8-3 win over the Phoebus Phantoms. The Patriots' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Syniah-Ali Benton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up seven Ks. That one hit allowed gave her a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Denbigh got a massive performance out of Alieyah Bullock, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kimani Grady, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Denbigh's record is now 3-0. As for Phoebus, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Denbigh will look to defend their home field on Monday against Manor at 4:30 p.m. As for Phoebus, they will venture away from home to take on Woodside at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
