Baseball Recap: Hudson Gets the Win

Hudson got themselves on the board against Oakmont Regional on Monday, but Oakmont Regional never followed suit. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 5-0. The Hawks have beaten the Spartans the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Spartans has come to flipping the script.

Not much got past Anthony Moura, who gave up just three hits to keep Oakmont Regional off the board. Moura has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hudson got a big performance out of Thomas Roush, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Logan Dome, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Hudson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.

Hudson's record now sits at 10-5. As for Oakmont Regional, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 12-5 record.

Hudson and Oakmont Regional should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Hawks (ranked 82nd) will meet Marlborough (ranked 206th) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Oakmont Regional will face off against Groton-Dunstable at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (46 vs. 189).
