Evangel Christian Academy suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: Evangel Christian Academy Eagles vs. Peabody Warhorses

After a string of three wins, the Evangel Christian Academy Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Peabody, falling 77-38. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Evangel Christian Academy has scored all season.

Peabody's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Burns, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 19 rebounds. The contest was Burns' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Mathews, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Evangel Christian Academy bumped their record down to 10-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Peabody, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evangel Christian Academy will take on Bossier at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Peabody, they will head out on the road to face off against Captain Shreve at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Captain Shreve will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Peabody is ranked sixth).
