Softball Game Preview: Lake Flyers vs. Otsego Knights

Lake is 0-4 against Otsego since April of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Flyers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 4:45 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Lake took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Maumee, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Flyers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 win over the Panthers on Wednesday. While the Flyers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Otsego strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Oak Harbor get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. Fans of the Knights have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Otsego's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.3 runs this season. As for Lake, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
