Softball Recap: Mingus Comes Up Short

Mingus had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 3-13 to make it six. They came up short against the Mohave Thunderbirds, falling 14-3. If the Marauders were looking for revenge after losing 15-7 to the Thunderbirds when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mingus saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Rosenberg, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

As for Mohave, their win bumped their record up to 9-12. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the contest before.

On Mohave's side, Riley Lozada was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four runs gave Lozada a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jahnezz Jones, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mingus will welcome Coconino at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Marauders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Mohave, they will be playing at home against Glendale at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderbirds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season.
