Football Recap: Quapaw Wildcats vs. Pawhuska Huskies
Quapaw lost against Pawhuska back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats were beaten by the Huskies 80-13. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Huskies are ranked 89th).
Vann Wildcat produced another solid performance rushing for 143 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also picking up 57 receiving yards and one score for Pawhuska. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Wildcat a new career-high. Kane Foreman was another key player, throwing for 193 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes.
This is the second loss in a row for Quapaw and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Pawhuska, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Quapaw will take on rival Morrison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pawhuska is set to face off against their familiar foe Caney Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
