Football Recap: Southside Seahawks vs. Rosewood Eagles

Southside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 20-7 to the Rosewood Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Seahawks of the 26-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.

Bryson Hobbs was a one-man wrecking crew for Rosewood as he rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Those 123 rushing yards gave Hobbs a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Williamson, who rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown.

Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Rosewood, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southside will square off against American Leadership Academy-Johnston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. American Leadership Academy-Johnston's defense has only allowed 14.4 points per game this season, so Southside's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Rosewood, they will challenge Hobbton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
