Volleyball Recap: Caledonia Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Byron Center, Caledonia was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ionia Bulldogs, sneaking past 2-1.

Caledonia had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-18, 15-8.

Aubrey Reynolds paced Caledonia's offense, picking up 11 kills. Reynolds got some help from Reese Stafford and her 16 assists. Kyla Charles controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Caledonia's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Ionia, with the loss, they broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-2.

Caledonia has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Portage Central on the 13th. As for Ionia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Forest Hills Eastern on the 13th.
