Preview: Tri-State Christian Crusaders vs. Avon Grove Charter Wolves
The Tri-State Christian Crusaders will stay at home for another game and welcome the Avon Grove Charter Wolves at 5:30 p.m. on February 13th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, Tri-State Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 39-35 to Greenwood Mennonite. While losing is never fun, Tri-State Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 192nd in Maryland, while Greenwood Mennonite is ranked 24th in Delaware).
Meanwhile, Avon Grove Charter ended up a good deal behind Tome on Tuesday and lost 26-11.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Gia Hall, who scored six points along with nine rebounds. That was a full 54.5% of Avon Grove Charter's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Tri-State Christian's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6. As for Avon Grove Charter, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-10.
Tri-State Christian strolled past Avon Grove Charter in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 40-21. Will Tri-State Christian repeat their success, or does Avon Grove Charter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
