Baseball Recap: Mescalero Apache Comes Up Short

Mescalero Apache lost against Mesilla Valley Christian School back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Chiefs came up short against the SonBlazers, falling 15-3. The Chiefs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mescalero Apache saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Damon, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Another was Ricardo Yuzos, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Mescalero Apache's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Mesilla Valley Christian School, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Mescalero Apache will head out to challenge Capitan at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chiefs are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Mesilla Valley Christian School, they will host Lordsburg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mavericks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.27 runs per game on average), something the SonBlazers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
