Winters Mill proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Glen Burnie Gophers. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Gophers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Winters Mill's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Glen Burnie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Winters Mill will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against City College at 4:30 p.m. The Black Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Glen Burnie, they will head out on the road to take on Meade at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
