Baseball Recap: Westosha Central's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Westosha Central dropped their record down to 11-11 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indian Trail Hawks. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Everett Lucero made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Joe Suokko was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

As for Indian Trail, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

On Indian Trail's side, they got a great performance from Cameron Bentz as he pitched six innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Zeller, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples and two runs. That's the most triples he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Connor Shada, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

As of now, neither Westosha Central nor Indian Trail have any future games scheduled.
