Volleyball Recap: Concord Minutemen vs. South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies
Concord unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Minutemen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.
While Concord was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-22.
Ingrid Medina paced Concord's offense, picking up seven kills. Medina got some help from Claire Campanello and her 25 assists. Ella Bloss and Elveera Astakhov kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.
Concord has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Elkhart on the 21st. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Plymouth on the 21st.
