Basketball Game Preview: Ennis Lions vs. Corsicana Tigers

Ennis is 2-8 against Corsicana since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Ennis Lions challenge the Corsicana Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Ennis is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Tuesday. They took a blow against Midlothian Heritage, falling 50-20. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 997th, while the Jaguars are ranked 150th).

Meanwhile, Corsicana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 60-18 defeat at the hands of Red Oak.

Ennis' loss dropped their record down to 6-20. As for Corsicana, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-15.

Ennis beat Corsicana 46-34 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ennis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
