Volleyball Recap: Cary-Grove Find Success

Cary-Grove posted their closest victory since October 12, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Addison Trail Blazers, sneaking past 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Blazers on Saturday, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Lucy Wittenberg was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 18 digs and eight aces. Those eight aces gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Evelo, who had 19 assists and six digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Cary-Grove was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive contests.

Cary-Grove's record now sits at 8-23. As for Addison Trail, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-18 record this season.

Cary-Grove will be playing at home against Dundee-Crown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Addison Trail, they are taking a road trip to square off against Berwyn/Cicero Morton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
