The Miller Buccaneers are taking a road trip to face off against the Bishop Badgers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Miller has five straight wins, Bishop has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
While Miller didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They snuck past La Feria with a 57-52 victory on Saturday.

Miller's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Charles Perry Jr, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 assists, and Izaiah Gidrey, who shot 67% from the field en route to 20 points. Those 67% field goal percentage gave Gidrey a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brandon Smith, who posted eight points.
Meanwhile, Bishop scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 78-56 to King.
Miller will need to focus on slowing down Mathias Silvas, one of several Bishop players who made an impact when they last played. He had ten points and six assists. Silvas also posted a block, marking his first of the season. Trysten Trejo was another key player, putting up 18 points.
Miller's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Bishop, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Miller has been crazy accurate this season, having made 47.9% of their shots per game. It's a different story for Bishop, though, as they've only made 32.4% of their field goals this season. Given Miller's sizable advantage in that area, the Badgers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Miller took a serious blow against Bishop in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 73-34. Thankfully for the Buccaneers, Kristian Ramos (who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 14 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
