Troy extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 9-7 in the process. They blew past the Clearwater Valley Rams 17-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Trojans have posted against the Rams since May 19, 2023.

Javan Barton made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Troy got a massive performance out of Rowan Tyler, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Tyler a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dominic Holden, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs and one double.
Troy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
As for Clearwater Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since April 9th.
On Clearwater Valley's side, Tiago Pickering was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. Pickering is becoming a predictor of the Rams' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 7-1 (and 3-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Barak Meyer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Coming up, Troy will challenge Lapwai at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Clearwater Valley, they are taking a road trip to take on Genesee at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
