Preview: Vero Beach vs. Treasure Coast
If the MaxPreps national rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Vero Beach. On Friday they take on Treasure Coast at 7:00 PM. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Vero Beach and Treasure Coast will really light up the scoreboard.
Vero Beach might be getting used to good results now that the team have seven wins in a row. They made easy work of Westwood last Friday and carried off a 49-16 victory. No one put up better numbers for Vero Beach than senior Nicholas Celidonio, who brought his A game into the match. He passed for 271 yards and 3 touchdowns. Celidonio has now scored at least one touchdown in the past seven games.
Meanwhile, Treasure Coast put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season two weeks ago. They put a hurting on Central to the tune of 45-6. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 24-0.
Vero Beach simply couldn't be stopped the last time the two teams met, as they easily beat Treasure Coast 42-0. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
