Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Pleasant Grove Eagles

For the second straight game, Franklin will face off against Pleasant Grove. The Wildcats will take on the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Franklin's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Pleasant Grove's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Franklin's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Pleasant Grove with a sharp 10-0 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Dylan Wood looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brandon Williams, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Dylan Minnatee, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Franklin is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Pleasant Grove, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10.
