Basketball Recap: Frankfort Hot Dogs vs. West Lafayette Red Devils
Frankfort was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the West Lafayette Red Devils 54-15. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hot Dogs of the 69-18 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.
Ella Mcatee was Frankfort's leading scorer, having posted six points. Briana Flores held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds.
Amaya St. Hilaire continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for West Lafayette, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. St. Hilaire has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last seven times she's played. Bree Johnson was another key player, putting up eight points and ten rebounds.
Frankfort's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for West Lafayette, they pushed their record up to 4-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Frankfort will face off against Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Frankfort is facing Lebanon at the right time seeing as Lebanon is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for West Lafayette, they will square off against North Vermillion at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. North Vermillion will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something West Lafayette surely won't give up without a fight.
