Softball Recap: South Side Takes a Loss

South Side was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-0 to the Union Area Scotties, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Scotties this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 on Wednesday.

South Side's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Union Area, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Looking ahead, South Side will look to defend their home field on Friday against Sewickley Academy at 4:00 p.m. Sewickley Academy's pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so South Side's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Union Area, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on New Castle at 4:00 p.m. on the 24th.
