Soccer Recap: Ames Takes a Loss

If Ames was feeling good fresh off their 6-0 takedown of Hoover on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Little Cyclones came up short against the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars on Monday, falling 4-1. Ames were red-hot offensively heading into the matchup (they scored no less than four goals in the three games prior), but Ankeny Centennial's defense proved too tough.

Ames moved to 13-4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Ankeny Centennial, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ames will host Des Moines East at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ankeny Centennial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Waukee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
