Basketball Recap: Pioneer Takes a Loss

Pioneer was the 45-35 winner over Knox when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pioneer Panthers fell to the Knox Redskins 51-47.

Knox's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Myles Mclaughlin, who went 5-for-11 en route to 19 points and six rebounds. Mclaughlin's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Teagen Johnson was another key player, putting up nine points and seven boards.

Pioneer's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Knox, their victory bumped their record up to 2-13.

Coming up, Pioneer will be playing at home against Culver Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Knox, they are taking a road trip to take on Bremen at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Bremen's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Knox has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
