Desert Edge waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Buckeye Hawks by a score of 8-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-2 last Tuesday.

Desert Edge got a great performance from Chase Downing as he struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave Downing a new career-high.

At the plate, Cooper Zaremba and Tyson Kinnear did most of the damage at the plate: Zaremba scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Kinnear scored a run while going 2-for-4. That run marked the first that Zaremba scored this season.
