Baseball Recap: Freedom Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Freedom dropped their record down to 16-6 on Monday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins on the road. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (2-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 6-1.

Michael Horvath was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

As for Parkland, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 19th.

On Parkland's side, the team relied heavily on Will Dobil, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Freedom does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Parkland, they are taking a road trip to square off against Liberty at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Hurricanes have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
