Soccer Game Preview: Springstead vs. Weeki Wachee

The Springstead Eagles will face off against the Weeki Wachee Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Weeki Wachee took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Springstead, who comes in off a win.

Springstead will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Monday, then bounced right back against Citrus on Wednesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 6-1 margin over the Hurricanes. Springstead might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Weeki Wachee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Zephyrhills.

Springstead's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Weeki Wachee, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6-1.

Everything went Springstead's way against Weeki Wachee in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as Springstead made off with an 8-0 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
