Recap: Trenton Tigers vs. Bell Bulldogs

The Trenton Tigers entered their tilt with the Bell Bulldogs with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Trenton breezed by Bell at home to the tune of 57-27. Trenton's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Nyima Gillyard, who scored 24 points along with three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Trenton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Koi Perry, who scored eight points along with six assists and six steals.

Despite the loss, Bell had strong showings from Maddie Smith, who scored 15 points along with four steals, and Jodi Waddle, who scored a points along with six rebounds and five steals. Smith scored a full 55.6% of Bell's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, Bell were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trenton only pulled down 21 offensive rebounds.

Trenton's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Bell, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Trenton will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Fort White at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Fort White focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday. As for Bell, they will head out on the road to face off against Bronson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bronson comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
