Soccer Game Preview: Austin vs. Bowie

Austin hasn't had much luck against Bowie recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Maroons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Austin got the win against Clemens by a conclusive 4-1. With Austin ahead 3-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bowie, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Akins on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Bowie's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Akins are ranked 444th).

Joshua Lewis and Django Van Brunt scored all three of Bowie's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Bowie is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-1-2 record this season. As for Austin, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5-1.

Austin came up short against Bowie in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, falling 2-0. Can the Maroons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
