Basketball Recap: Justin Rhodes' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Valley Vista over Williams Field

Valley Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Williams Field Black Hawks, falling 79-53. While losing is never fun, the Monsoon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while the Black Hawks are ranked 40th).

Several Monsoon players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Justin Rhodes, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of TyTy Bynum, who scored 11 points and three steals.

Valley Vista's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Williams Field, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-4.

Valley Vista has already played their next game (against O'Connor), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Williams Field didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-61 defeat against Highland on the 10th.
