Softball Game Preview: Northfield Mount Hermon Hoggers vs. Kimball Union Academy Wildcats

The Northfield Mount Hermon Hoggers will take on the Kimball Union Academy Wildcats at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.

Northfield Mount Hermon came up short against Loomis Chaffee School last Wednesday, falling 20-1.

Meanwhile, Kimball Union Academy hadn't done well against New Hampton School recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 22-4 margin over the Huskies. That 18 run margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Adi Runge made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Runge was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Runge is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Stella Kozak, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Zoie Stevens, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Kimball Union Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .585. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Hampton School only posted a batting average of .263.
