Basketball Game Preview: Evansville North Huskies vs. Gibson Southern Titans

The Evansville North Huskies will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Gibson Southern Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Evansville North earned a 71-63 win over Forest Park. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Evansville North got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lance Smith out in front who went 7-for-10 en route to 18 points. Those 18 points gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Chapman, who shot 89% from the field to rack up 17 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Gibson Southern, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 44-35 win over Mt. Vernon on Thursday.

The victory got Gibson Southern back to even at 1-1. As for Evansville North, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Evansville North came out on top in a nail-biter against Gibson Southern when the teams last played back in December of 2024, sneaking past 45-43. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Titans' Brodey Lamb, who went 7-for-16 on his way to 21 points.
