Katie Dzialo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Makena Hawkins, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Danbury). They never let Bridgeport Central get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Friday. The Hatters haven't had any issues with the Hilltoppers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Abigail O'Dell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Danbury got a massive performance out of Chloe Trimandilis, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Trimandilis has posted since back in April. Julia Lopez was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Danbury kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

St. Joseph pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Danbury, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.

Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. St. Joseph hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .354. However, it's not like Danbury struggles in that department as they've averaged .364. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

St. Joseph took their win against Danbury when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-5 score. Do the Cadets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hatters turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
