Softball Recap: Luray Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Luray's offense. They lost 16-0 to the Page County Panthers on Friday. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 30-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Luray dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Page County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Luray will head out to challenge Clarke County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Page County, they will venture away from home to square off against Stuarts Draft at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
